The new Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) begins October 1, 2019. Developed and presented by the American Health Care Association (AHCA), the PDPM Academy is a 10-month training effort to help centers prepare for this massive change. It offers both the in-person training and continuing updates and support. Provider members of AHCA and NCHCFA who register for the PDPM Academy will have access to a PDPM 101 workshop Webinar, a full day in-person training, monthly workshop Webinars on key topics and emerging PDPM issues, and “how to” Webinars on implementing additional tools developed by AHCA. The PDPM Academy and in-person training is for provider members only. Register today as we expect this to reach capacity soon. North Carolina’s in-person training will be March 26, 2019, in Greensboro, NC. Click here to download the brochure and registration form. On-line registration has closed since the max capacity has almost been reached. Please email your registration forms to Donna Snyder at donnas@nchcfa.org or fax to (919) 787-8418. |
SNF VALUE-BASED PURCHASING PROGRAM: PHASE ONE REVIEW AND CORRECTIONS CALL |
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has scheduled a call, SNF Value-Based Purchasing Program: Phase One Review and Corrections. The call will take place on Wednesday, March 20 at 1:30 PM and is scheduled to end at 3:00 PM. During this call, participants will learn about the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) Program Review and Corrections process and get answers to frequently asked questions about Phase One of the process. During the Review and Corrections period, SNFs have an opportunity to review and submit correction requests to quality measure information. Deadline for correction submission is April 1, 2019. For more information, visit the SNF VBP Program webpage. A question and answer session follows the presentation; however attendees may email questions in advance to SNFVBPInquiries@cms.hhs.gov with “SNF VBP Mar 20 NPC” in the subject line. These questions may be addressed during the call or used for other materials following the call. To register to participate on the call, click here. |

REGISTER TODAY FOR THE HIGHLY RATED SERVANT LEADERSHIP FOR LTC WORKSHOP |
The North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association will be presenting this workshop to our members one time only in 2019! This workshop was offered across the state of NC in 2017 and 2018 with great success and outstanding reviews. Servant leadership is a set of behaviors and practices that turn the traditional “power leadership” model upside down; instead of the people working to serve the leader, the leader exists to serve the people. When leaders shift their mindset and serve first, they unlock purpose and ingenuity in those around them, resulting in higher performance and engaged, fulfilled employees. As servant leaders, your purpose is to inspire and equip those you influence. The goal of this workshop is to provide attendees with information and tools that are relevant, transformative, memorable, and actionable. You will learn and practice execution of the most critical skills needed for leading by serving first. You will come out of this course feeling energized and have a number of tools and skills you can start to apply immediately to empower your teams. This workshop will be Wednesday, March 13th at the NCHCFA office in Raleigh, NC and facilitated by Mark Gogal. For the complete brochure and registration information, click here. |

DID YOU KNOW? |
In an effort to keep patrons in the casino after the late headliner show, the El Rancho launched the first buffet in Las Vegas in 1946. For only $1, the Buckaroo Buffet featured a simple array of cold cuts, plus a few hot dishes, as their flyer advertised, “to appease the howling coyote in your innards.” |
