American Labor Force Growing Older, More Diverse: Report

The American labor force has more workers 55 years or older than ever before, according to an issue brief released this month from the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI).   

According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, EBRI found that between 1981 and 2023, the share of the labor force of Americans 55 years or older became increasingly larger.
