Great Educational Sessions Await at NCHCHFA Fall Symposium
The NCHCFA Fall Symposium on September 9 – 11 at Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, SC is less than two months away. Here is a highlight of three educational sessions on the second day.
Marilee Johnson, State Quality Manager for NC with Alliant Health Solutions, kicks off the day with Quality Improvement Across the Continuum to help your organization maximize the benefits of collaboration. She will highlight the current CMS initiatives and success stories from NC facilities and share highlights from the new 13th Scope of Work that aligns with the CMS 2022 National Quality Strategy, Behavioral Health Strategy, and the Framework for Health Equity.
The second half of the morning includes Navigating the Ethics of AI in the Nursing Home Industry with Beth “Z” (Ziesenis), Your Nerdy Best Friend, and Implementing a Falls Prevention Program with Jeri Lundgren, Senior Providers Resource. Learning objectives from Beth Z’s session include:
- Understand why AI makes up facts and how to combat misinformation
- Examine the issue of data privacy
- Gain insight into AI challenges with plagiarism and copyright infringement
- Explore what “ethical use” of AI means for the nursing home industry
- Discover the newest AI tools and how to stay on top of new AI technology and opportunities
Then, Jeri’s session will utilize the QAPI approach to assist you in setting up and implementing a Falls prevention program, discuss interventions and day-to-day operations that will help minimize fall risk, and discuss interventions to consider upon admission.
