NC Culture Change Coalition Offering Navigating Elections Webinar
The North Carolina Culture Change Coalition is offering a free Navigating Elections webinar on August 13 at 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Long-term care facilities must “have a plan to ensure residents can exercise their right to vote, whether in-person, by mail, absentee or other authorized process,” according to guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Laura Williams, National Training Coordinator with the Center for Vulnerable Voters, will provide guidance on navigating the election process for North Carolina citizens living in residential communities. The interactive session objectives are to:
- Identify three facility vulnerabilities, along with the correlating policy and/or procedures for implementation.
- Describe how to facilitate recommended best practice for residential voting.
- Identify two avenues to educate and involve family members regarding residential voting.
This webinar is targeted toward long term care facility staff, especially Activity Professionals and Social Workers, long term care Ombudsmen, and State Surveyors.
